EQUALITY: THE JOURNEY CONTINUES
A Pima County Tucson Women’s Commission
40TH Anniversary and Women’s Equality Day Celebration

Thursday, August 25th
11:30 am to 1:30 pm
Lodge on the Desert, 306 N. Alvernon Way
Luncheon and Program – $65 per person (reservations required)

In celebration of the 40th Anniversary (1976-2016) of the Pima County Tucson Women’s Commission and Women’s Equality Day, please join us in celebrating those who fought to give women the right to vote and those who continue to work for women’s equality today.  An exciting platform of speakers will share their insights into the progress of the women’s equality movement and what it means today.  News anchor Kristi Tedesco, KVOA News4 Tucson, will serve as master of ceremonies.

Two special honorees will be recognized for their service and leadership in our community.

Keynote Speaker:
Dr. Carolyn Warner, Founder and President, Corporate Education Consulting and past three-term Arizona State Superintendent of Public Instruction. 

Topic: “The Meaning of Women’s Equality: Celebrating Our Inclusion in the Political Process”

Dr. Carolyn Warner’s best-seller The Last Word: A Treasury of Women’s Quotes will be available to purchase for $15 (cash or check only) before and after the event.  A book signing with Dr. Warner will be held after the event.

Judy Rich, CEO and President, Tucson Medical Center
Topic: “Wielding Power in a Man’s World”

Joe Broschak, Executive Director, McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship, University of Arizona
Topic: “Progress Toward Equality in Women’s Careers: How Far We’ve Come: What Lies Ahead”

 Honorees:
Shirley Sandelands, President, Arizona State League of Women Voters and past President, Greater Tucson League of Women Voters
Karin Uhlich, Tucson City Council Member, Ward
